Our guest for this episode of the Living to 100 Club podcast is Brigid McVaugh. Brigid is a nutritionist who has worked with patients with a range of medical illnesses. Our conversation focuses on vascular disease. Actually, the conversation touches on both heart and brain health. So, if someone wants to know more about heart healthy diets, we answer questions like:

  • How do we implement “medical” guidelines into our regular diets and meal preparation, on a practical level?
  • Is it possible to dine out in restaurants comfortably?
  • And, you will hear tips on meal planning when other family members are not facing dietary restrictions?

Above all, our guest’s recommendations apply to everyone who wants to remain young in heart and mind! Also, Brigid discusses the common approaches in several of the most popular diets. These include the Mediterranean, Ornish, and DASH diets. Finally, we explore how to overcome the main barriers to healthier eating patterns.
