This episode explores the ins and outs of home-sharing, and the viability, affordability, and enjoy-ability of this lifestyle. Especially as we enter into life’s third stage.  Our guest is Dorothy Mazeau. Drawing on more than 20 years of living in shared homes, Dorothy founded Golden Home-Sharing Connections and its online database Golden Girls Canada in 2019. This helps others learn how this way of living can add years to your life and life to your years.

We discuss the concept of home sharing. What are its advantages, when to start thinking about sharing your home, barriers, and how to find compatible housemates? To put this untapped resource into perspective, research says there are ample numbers of available bedrooms to share. For example, in the most populous Canadian province, Ontario, there are 5 million spare bedrooms.

Tune in to this enlightening conversation for inside information about this vast, untapped resource for fun, companionship, and income!

She has served on the boards of both the Canadian Cohousing Network and the Cohousing Association of the United States.
