This Living to 100 Club podcast invites as its guest Gabriel Shaw, a practicing kinesiologist and clinical exercise physiologist in British Columbia. We discuss mindful movement. Gabriel works with clients in individual and group settings to help them improve their strength, mobility, and posture. These are all central to movement and athleticism. In this program, our conversation focuses on in-home activities and exercises that allow us to stay fit while aging well. And we explore how we can recover from stress and trauma through different conditioning exercises, breathwork, and other body movement activities like Tai Chi and dance. Also, we dive into emotional and mental barriers that can interfere with getting the movement we want. Mini Bio

I help people who are in pain or feeling stuck to overcome injuries, find freedom and comfort by identifying dysfunctional patterns caused by stress and trauma held in the body. Through movement coaching, online programs, dance and Tai Chi classes, my clients move better by releasing tension. The result is less tightness and greater athleticism despite aging or injury – without the “no pain, no gain” mentality. You’ll gain functional strength and mobility, as well as improved connection in mind, body and spirit.

Gabriel is a practicing Kinesiologist (BCAK), Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Performance Specialist (CSEP) with over ten years of experience teaching movement. His focus is on active rehab and functional mobility/stability. He has a proven track record helping people reach activity goals, rehabilitating joint injuries and improving mental health. Before becoming a kinesiologist, Gabriel worked as an emergency medical technician in both field and hospital settings. Gabriel enjoys all things movement. Most of his free time is spent in activities such as martial arts, dancing, running, climbing etc. Above all, Gabriel’s mission is to empower our coming together on the path of self-discovery, integration and transcendence to help us connect more deeply with our true nature.
