Turning: The Magic and Mystery of More Days

Our guest for this Living to 100 Club Podcast is author, geriatric nurse, and positive aging advocate, Becky Blue. Becky’s latest book, Turning, reflects her vision for a fresh outlook on aging, filled with serendipity and surprises, and the notion to leave the worry behind, to be replaced with wonder. We discuss the usual challenges of aging and the ways to combat the ageist attitudes we still see around us. How can we best spend the remaining “third act” of our lives? What does the world want from us in these later years, in this third act? And what wonder lies ahead when we turn outside of ourselves? Can we find the magic, and the mystery? Tune is as we discover the secret to welcoming, rather than dreading, the turning of the years.

Mini Bio

Becky Blue caught the writing bug as a bell bottom-wearing high schooler, and she’s been putting pen to paper ever since. A professional career in geriatric and faith-based nursing only strengthened that passion, as her work sharpened her skills as a writer, teaching her to observe, listen, and question. Now, in retirement, the connections between health and faith have appeared on her blog, Made with Words. Turning: The Magic and Mystery of More Days is Becky’s second book, focusing on best spending the third act. This book followed Made with Words: Stories and Recipes from a Kitchen Wall, a 2018 cookbook inspired by her love of gathering friends and family in her kitchen.
