The Art of Chilling Out

This conversation invites as its guest Angela Coleman, author of The Art of Chilling Out. This is a conversation about burnout, worry, and stress. What are ways to replace these negative states with spiritual healing, self-care, and self-love. Angela discusses the need for resilience and adaptation. She highlights how important these are today in the face of social media demands, technology demands, and the stresses from post-COVID isolation. Where does our resilience come from? How do we tap into it? Can we empower ourselves with the tools to “chill out?” Importatntly, our guest shares different activities that can be brought into our daily life, even if we have a space of five seconds to five minutes. These are activities that can enhance our mood, bring equilibrium, increase productivity, and slow down. We learn the fun and the serious sides of “chilling out.” Join us.

Mini Bio

Angela Coleman is the author of The Art of Chilling Out for Women. She is a holistic health expert who founded the global nonprofit Sisterhood Agenda in 1994. She later founded the for-profit business, Sisterhood Agenda Enterprises, LLC. Coleman is the author of more than twenty books. these include Girls Guide: How to Relax and Let Go; Girls Guide: How to Be Like Michelle Obama; and Girls Guide: How to Lose Weight Fast & Forever. 

She grew up in Newark, New Jersey. She graduated cum laude from Princeton University with an AB degree in psychology and African American studies. Angela was awarded the Student Achievement Award in Feminist Scholarship. Another distinction, she was also awarded the American Psychological Association Minority Undergraduate Student of Excellence Award. Coleman later studied clinical psychology at Howard University. Our guest earned a degree in nonprofit management from Duke University, and received an MBA from the University of Phoenix. She holds certifications in trauma, psychological first aid, suicide prevention, and African holistic health.
